Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will begin their campaign at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup against debutants Dominican Republic in Mendoza on Sunday, May 21.
It is the first time Dominican Republic will feature at a FIFA tournament across all levels.
Ladan Bosso’s side will confront Italy three days later in their second Group D game also in Mendoza
The Flying Eagles will wrap up their group stage campaign against five-time winners, Brazil in La Plata on Saturday, May 27.
The draw ceremony for the competition took place in Zurich, Switzerland on Friday (today).
The tournament will take place in Argentina between May 20 and June 11.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were among the 24 countries that have secured their place in the competition.
According to the pots which were released on Thursday afternoon, Flying Eagles were placed in Pot 3 alongside Uzbekistan, Japan, Honduras, Iraq and Fiji.
African champions Senegal is in Pot 1 with the USA, Uruguay, France, Italy and the host Argentina.
The draw is scheduled for the FIFA headquarters in Zurich on Friday as the tournament will kick off on May 20th in Argentina.
