Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Haag hit out at referee Anthony Taylor for sending Casemiro off during his team’s clash against Southampton.
The Brazil midfielder was shown a red card for a seemingly nasty tackle on Carlos Alcaraz in the first half.
Casemiro was consoled by his teammates as he left the pitch.
After the game, Ten Haag defended the former Real Madrid player and pointed to his disciplinary record.
“Casemiro played over 500 games in Europe and never once got a red card. Now he has two in the Premier League.
“His absence is not the issue. We will deal with that. This game was influenced by the referee,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports
Casemiro is now set to miss four games as this is his second red card of the campaign.
